This attractive village - with the surrounding church villages of Tilligte, Lattrop-Breklenkamp and Noord Deuningen - is surrounded by magnificent forests and natural reserves. The 700-year-old monumental Sint Nicolaas Church in the town centre, completely built of Bentheim sandstone, is impossible to miss.
From the centre, it's a short walk to the centuries-old estate of Singraven, with its stately manor, water mill, park and arboretum, which can be visited at set times. Lattrop-Breklenkamp was once the site of the house of the painter Johan Barthold Jongkind. An information kiosk offers details on the life of this exceptional painter. At the old Brecklenkamp manor is a farm with a bakspieker, a unique bakehouse with a tree growing through the roof.
